Thank you for the congrats! I love going to school and I wish I could go get a couple of other degrees like art, horticulture, and geology. But I don't think I should right now. I have however signed up to work on a credential/master's degree in special ed. I look forward to that, I'm going to start that in Sept. Thank you to the wonderful encouragement of my family and children. I'm so lucky and blessed to be a part of you.
Last Sunday I was lucky to see Gladys Night's choir. They came to perform in Sacto and a friend had an extra ticket. It was free but you had to have a ticket. If I had known sooner, I wish I could have gotten tickets for the whole family. It is a choir that travels around and shares their testimonies through great gospel music and verbal testimonies. She shared hers, and her husband told about his conversion. It started with her daughter and son who had joined the church. The show is very uplifting, I loved it. I'd love to be in her choir. They are based in Las Vegas. Go to www. suvchoir.org to learn about it.
I had a date on Wednesday with a nice guy I met a few years ago in my art classes at Sierra. He's a pretty good artist. His wife passed away last year and he looked me up in his old notes and found my email. We went to Dos Coyotes (two points for him!) and we just chatted. He's really nice and kinda funny. He is a retired Sacto county sherriff detective. Not a member of the church though. He just wants a friend to buddy up with and go places...fine with me.
I just started a new summer job, working with LindaMood-Bell learning center on Arden Way. It's an intensive program for people/mostly kids who need extra help with reading. go to lindamoodbell.com if you want to see their website. Parents pay thousands of dollars for the program but it is quite amazing. I don't get any time off so I guess we won't be coming to Utah until Thanksgiving again. It was so wonderful to have my sweet mom and dad come and ordain the boys and see me graduate. It is always medicine to me to have them here. I have a tentative plan to move to Utah as soon as Jake graduates from high school in two years. He really loves the school and likes the 3-D animation classes he is taking. Have a great week everyone! Mel
PS, Tom asked Sam today what time his church was......yay! Keep praying for him and Jed..
